Our counselling service in Newcastle
Our team of counsellors offers talking therapies to support adults, children and adolescents with a broad range of issues. Some common issues people seek therapy for include: depression / low mood, anxiety, stress, trauma-related issues, obsessive compulsive disorder, disordered eating and body image issues, anger, grief, and much more. We also work with couples and families.
What is is?
Counselling supports people as they explore their unique issues and problems and the distress caused by them. We aim to help clients gain an insight into their feelings and behaviours in a non-judgemental and non-directive way. We support clients as they find new ways to move forwards with things.
How can we help?
Counselling can give people a clearer view of how they are and how they interact with the world around them. It can enable them to accept themselves and make changes for the better.
Is there a difference between counselling and couples counselling?
Relationship / couples counselling is similar, but involves more than one client and is focused specifically on their relationship issues.
Is counselling an effective therapy?
Research findings suggest that counselling is an effective way of making things better. It is particularly powerful when there is a strong therapeutic relationship between client and therapist so it is important to work with a counsellor that you feel comfortable with.
